At Karamitsos, we have a strong sense of environmental responsibility. We base our choices in the vineyard on a desire to continue farming this land ethically and sustainably, as our family has done here since 1902.
Despite the challenges, we know this direction in the vineyard is the only path to follow. We adhere to both. Since the beginning, we have practiced a sustainable farming philosophy. As a sustainable vineyard, we meet the needs of the land today without compromising its future uses. Biodiversity, ecological balance, natural plant fertilization, natural pest management and soil integrity are principles we live by.
Our vineyard now stretches out an area of 15 hectares. The vineyards are located in the plain of Nemea at an altitude of 220-300 meters and on the slopes of the village ‘Koutsi’, at an altitude of 400-550 meters. The vineyards have as main production Agiorgitiko but also the indigenous varieties Assyrtiko, Roditis, Malagouzia and Savvatiano. Also, the international varieties Syrah, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon.
